Our community and its organisers are dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive and engaging space for individuals in the non-monogamous community. To maintain a safe environment for all our members, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Age Requirement
• All members must be at least 18 years old.
- Respect and Inclusivity
• Treat all members with respect regardless of their relationship structure, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or ability.
• Use inclusive language and avoid assumptions about others' identities or relationships.
• Honor others' pronouns and chosen names.
- Privacy and Consent
• You consent that your phone number and photo will be visible in the group channels that you join. We will never collect or share your data, and you can leave the community WhatsApp group at any time.
• Do not share personal photos of yourself or others.
• Respect others' privacy - do not disclose information about other members outside the group.
• Always obtain explicit consent before discussing someone else's personal experiences.
- Content Restrictions
• The chats are only for everything related to non-monogamy or what is described in each group description. For other matters, you can send one message stating your questions or thoughts and ask people to reach out to you directly to not overload the chat.
• Do not share any content involving minors.
• Refrain from posting graphic sexual content or explicit imagery.
• Avoid detailed discussions of sexual acts - keep conversations general and educational.
- No Harassment or Discrimination
• Zero tolerance for any form of harassment, bullying or discrimination.
• Refrain from making derogatory comments or jokes about any identity or relationship structure.
• Do not engage in or promote conversion therapy or similar harmful practices.
- Constructive Communication
• Express disagreements respectfully and focus on ideas, not personal attacks.
• Use content warnings for potentially sensitive topics.
• Be open to learning from others' experiences and perspectives.
- No Solicitation or Promotion
• Do not use the group for personal promotion or commercial purposes.
• Refrain from soliciting dates, partners or sexual encounters within the group.
• Refrain from contacting members of the group privately without explicit consent.
- Education and Support
• Share information from reputable sources when discussing health, legal or relationship topics.
• Offer support and resources rather than unsolicited advice.
• Respect that each person's journey and choices in non-monogamy are unique.
- Intersectionality Awareness
• Recognize and respect the diverse experiences within our communities, including how different identities intersect.
• Be mindful of privilege and how it may impact perspectives and experiences.
- Conflict Resolution
• Address conflicts privately when possible.
• If unable to resolve, seek mediation from group moderators.
- Mental Health Considerations
• Be mindful that discussions may be triggering for some members.
• Provide content warnings for discussions of mental health, trauma, or other sensitive topics.
• Encourage seeking professional help for serious mental health concerns.
- Reporting Violations
• Report any violations of these guidelines to the group administrators immediately.
• Do not engage with or escalate problematic behaviour - let moderators handle the situation.
- Confidentiality
• What's shared in the group stays in the group, unless you have explicit permission to share.
• Do not screenshot or share posts from the group elsewhere.
- Language and Terminology
• Use current, respectful terminology for LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous identities and practices.
• Be open to gentle correction if you unintentionally use outdated or inappropriate terms.
- Ally Participation
• Allies are welcome but should primarily listen and learn rather than dominate conversations.
• Allies should not speak over or for LGBTQ+ or non-monogamous individuals.
- Political Discussions
• Political discussions related to LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous rights are allowed but must remain respectful.
• Focus on policies and their impacts rather than attacking individuals or parties.
- Media Sharing
• Only share media (articles, videos, etc.) from reputable sources that are relevant to the group's focus.
• Provide content warnings and summaries for shared media when appropriate.
- Self-Care and Boundaries
• Encourage members to practice self-care and set personal boundaries in discussions.
• Respect when others need to step back from conversations for their wellbeing.
